Thermacut T-12022 gouging shield replaces Hypertherm 220798

This part replaces Hypertherm 220798-UR. It's Thermacut T-12022, the gouging shield for 65, 85 and 105A, and it suits Hypertherm Duramax torches on Powermax 65, 85 and 105. Sold each.

Parts that go with it

Up to 85A, the shield or deflector and the nozzle must be used together as a set. At 105A, the shield, retaining cap and nozzle must be used together as a set. The electrode and swirl ring are always used together as a set.

Does T-12022 replace Hypertherm 220798?

Yes. T-12022 is the Thermacut replacement for Hypertherm 220798-UR, the gouging shield for Duramax torches at 65, 85 and 105A.

Which shield do I need?

It depends on your torch, amperage and job. For cutting at 45, 65 and 85A, use 220818 Shield for Hand Torch 45/65/85A T-11406 on a hand torch or 220817 Shield for Machine Torch 45/65/85A T-11404 on a machine torch. At 105A, use 220992 Shield for Hand Torch 105A T-11841 on a hand torch or 220993 Shield for Machine Torch 105A T-11842 on a machine torch. For gouging, use this shield, and for FineCut on an ohmic table, 220948 FineCut Ohmic Shield 45A T-12014.

Which Powermax machines does this shield fit?

It fits the Powermax 65, 85 and 105 with a Duramax hand or machine torch. It doesn't suit Powermax SYNC systems (they use one-piece cartridges), the original Powermax45 or the Powermax30.

Can I use T-12022 for gouging at 105A?

Yes. The same shield is used at 65, 85 and 105A. At 105A it goes with Retaining Cap 105A T-11422, because the 45/65/85A cap is rated up to 85A.
