Liquid Chisel Fast Acting Concrete & Mortar Remover ChemTools CT-LC101-05L

DESCRIPTION:

Chemtools® Liquid Chisel LC101 Concrete & Mortar Remover is an odorless and fast-acting* easy-to-use formula designed to turn concrete, mortar, lime, and grout into a soft paste for effortless removal. It is non-corrosive and non-flammable and can be used on most surfaces, including steel, aluminum, fiberglass and glass, plastic, rubber, painted surfaces, wood, and more - including tools and equipment. LC101 is 100% biodegradable, extremely safe, and cost-effective, and contains no hydrofluoric, sulfuric, muriatic, or phosphoric acids.

The amount of time required to leave the product on is strictly proportional to the thickness of the product being dissolved

APPLICATION:

  • Using a foaming spray gun, or Chemtools® Foaming Pump Sprayer (Part No. CT-FSPR-1.5L), apply an initial coat of LC101 to hardened concrete/mortar/lime/grout, ensuring all exposed surfaces are soaked.
IMPORTANT: Do not wet the area with water before application as this will reduce the effectiveness of the product.
A note on color changes: The affected area will change color as the product soaks in – for example, concrete will turn white upon initial contact but will eventually become grey as the softening/dissolving process occurs.

  •  Allow LC101 to penetrate the affected area for a minimum of 15 minutes – the longer it is left to soak, the easier the cleaning process will be. IMPORTANT: Do not let the concrete/mortar/lime/grout dry before removal.
  • After the minimum soaking time has passed, begin the safe removal of the softening sludge by scrubbing the surface using a stiff nylon brush and a bucket of water to loosen and break up dissolved deposits.
Note: During the softening process, the affected area will look rough and spongy and will start to pull away from the underlying surface.
  • Using a trowel, hose, or pressure washer, clean the dissolved residue from the surface.
Note: On areas of thick concrete, a second application may be required

DILUTION RATIOS:

Note: This is a guide only.
LC101 is a concentrate and can be applied at full strength or diluted up to 1:3 with water. Dilution ratios depend on the age and type of concrete to be removed. The more concentrated the product is, the quicker it will work.

TYPE OF DEPOSIT  FULL STRENGTH DILUTION RATIO
Old concrete/mortar/lime/grout, including deposits on tools and equipment YES Max 1:1
(LC101: Water)
