Oxygen is a colourless, odourless, non-flammable and non-toxic gas which is a highly reactive non-metallic element and oxidizing agent that readily forms compounds with most elements.

Oxygen is used for metal cutting, welding and heating where it is mixed with other gases to produce a very hot flame. Oxygen, instead of air, is used to increase the flame temperature to allow localized melting of the workpiece material (e.g. steel) in a room environment.

A common propane/air flame burns at about 2,000 °C, a propane/oxygen flame burns at about 2,800 °C, and an acetylene/oxygen flame burns at about 3,500 °C.

Re-fills are done with a simple swap. We take your empty and give you a full one in return.

 

* Please note this is NOT a bottle of gas. We only exchange your old empty ones for a new one with gas. Only Speedgas bottles can be exchanged. Customers must bring the bottle in or arrange postage for the old bottle.
