Unicord 312 is a “universal” high chromium-nickel alloy steel electrode producing high-strength, tough welds in a wide range of alloy steels, irons, and dissimilar metals. Suitable for joining “hard-to-weld” steels, e.g.: spring, die steels, irons, etc. with tough crack-resistant weld metal. 

Smooth running basic rutile formulation gives excellent bead control, high arc stability, and low spatter welding

A versatile maintenance electrode for factory, farm, or die shop

Ideal for stainless to mild steel applications, “buffer” layers etc. Use short arc

Basic,rutile type electrode depositing 29cr/9Ni type stainless steel weld metal for high strength welding of a wide range of alloy steels and dissimilar ferrous metals.

Typical Applications:

For repair and maintenance of steels of unknown compostion.Also suitable as buffer or intermediate layer prior to the application of hard surfacing.
