Matson Antizap Surge Protector Service Minders provide total protection against transient voltage spikes or voltage surges generated by modern welding units such as Argon, Arc, MIG, TIG and Plasma Cutters . This prevents the need to disconnect batteries resulting in the loss of stereo and other memories, as well as protecting sensitive electronic components from damage resulting from excessive voltage levels.

Matson Antizap Surge Protection Service Minders should also be used when carrying out all types of electrical repairs on vehicles. Simply changing a fuse, globe or battery terminal can create voltage spikes resulting in expensive damage to vehicle electronics.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 

• Clamp the positive (red) clamp to the positive (+) battery terminal 
• Clamp the negative (black) clamp to the negative (-) battery terminal
• Green LED indicates correct connection and protection is inplace 
• RED led indicates no Antizap protection
• If Red LED is illuminated and audible beep is heard, the unit has been connected in reverse polarity. Double check connections are correct and that Green LED is illuminated before proceeding.
• If Green LED does not illuminate, do not proceed - Contact Matson 
• I neither LED is illuminated check battery terminals are not insnulated. Unit may need to be connected to battery post 

Ensure Vehicle is Correctly Earthed / Grounded Before Welding 

 

• The Antizap Service Minder will not protect against induced current created by incorrect welding procedures.
• Always follow manufacture's instructions 
• Additional Antizap surge protection may be required for accessories wired into the the vehicle's wiring harness between the point of weld and the battery
• If in doubt, seek the advice of an auto electrician prior to Welding
